The Riddle of Lumen (2009-2010, ongoing) refers to a silent film by Stan Brakhage (1972) in which Brakhage explores his personal relationship to light. I am constantly fascinated at light's ability to transform itself, behaving in paranormal ways that are not constistant with matter. Exploring these phenomena photographically helps to better inform my understanding of the complex relationship between matter, energy, and the visual representation of each.
